The team gathers in Braga!

Last week, the entire consortium met up in the Portuguese city of Braga for our General Assembly, marking SPARK-e’s very first year.

Across 1st and 2nd October, we had the chance to showcase everything we’ve been up to over the past 12 months and map out all that’s still to come (which, considering we’re only a quarter of the way through, is a massive amount!).

The start of the academic period is the perfect time to set our priorities for the year ahead, while ensuring there is enough flexibility in case things don’t go as planned.

Thanks to the fantastic work of our coordinator, CIIAE, and particularly our Project Manager, Alba H. Pérez Jimeno, every partner had their slot at the meeting to present their results and raise any questions.

We also seized the opportunity to discuss our position within the Effitronics portfolio and the upcoming activities that we will be organising with our sister projects. Specifically, SPARK-e will be hosting webinars with representatives from all portfolio members to discuss the challenges and opportunities surrounding energy efficiency in smart edge devices.

With so many partners involved from so many different countries, getting together in person to clear things up is sometimes an absolute must. Don’t get us wrong—modern tech makes daily communication a breeze, but you just can’t beat face-to-face interaction!

A huge thank you to our partners at INL in Braga, who were kind enough to host us for a few days. We got to enjoy some really valuable time together, as well as a guided tour of their incredible facilities and laboratories, which are run by Clivia Sotomayor Torres and her team.

We also took the opportunity for the Communication and Dissemination team (led by our expert partners, AGATA) to shoot a promotional video for the project. The final cut will be out very soon, so stay tuned if you don’t want to miss it!
